About the client
Levstek CNC is a family business from Vir near Domžale that has been turning and milling metal since 1967. With 15 CNC machines it makes single parts and small and medium series, from turning to 5-axis milling, and checks quality with a Mitutoyo coordinate measuring machine.
The challenge
The old website was slow on phones and poorly prepared for search engines: Google found images without descriptions, a missing page description and links that search engines cannot follow. On phones, the main content took 5.7 seconds to appear.
What we did
- Designed and built a new website from scratch, in Astro
- Two languages: Slovenian and English
- A clear overview of capabilities: turning, milling, quality control and the machine park
- A four-step process, from drawing to delivery
- A three-step enquiry form with uploads for drawings and 3D models (STEP, IGES, PDF, DWG, DXF)
- Frequently asked questions for buyers
- Search engine and accessibility foundations on every page

Forms
Instead of one long form, visitors are guided through short steps, so filling it in is quick and clear.
Enquiry with drawings
In three steps, buyers add drawings or 3D models (up to 20 MB, or a link for larger files), choose a deadline and pickup or delivery, and enter their details. A summary on the right shows the number of parts and files as they go.
Results
On phones the new site scores 99 out of 100 for performance and 100 for accessibility, best practices and SEO; the main content appears in 2.3 seconds instead of 5.7. On desktop all four scores are 100.
